Abrams Dermatology Offers Free Virtual Skin Cancer Screening Every Friday
Dr. Abrams and his team at Abrams Dermatology are on a mission to help reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus by pre-screening patients virtually. This service is free to all, and those who have been seen in the office within the last 12 months might be able to receive an immediate electronically prescribed medication at their pharmacy.
A patient should call to schedule a virtual skin cancer screening. They can fill out some information online and submit photos with a description of their symptoms. Our providers will review the patient’s skin condition and determine it requires immediate care. The patient will then receive a call to schedule an appointment if necessary.
Abrams Dermatology is also offering a curbside pick-up of products. A patient can call the office to place an order, then once it’s ready, the patient will receive a text to pick-up the product. In addition, scheduled patients can check-in from their cars. They can call once they arrive in the parking lot, then wait in their cars until they receive a text to head inside and be seen by the provider.
Abrams Dermatology respects the varied opinions on confinement, while following state and federal recommendations. We take extra precautions in our schedules to keep a low volume in our office, screening patients and sanitizing carefully. None of our staff is allowed to come in with any respiratory symptoms. We are informed of all updates through Florida Department of Public Health and the CDC, and will stay open under these standards. If medical practices are asked to close, we will be compliant. In the meantime, we will continue our medical and aesthetic services, and will include the following:
1. We use medical-grade sanitizer on common areas, doorknobs and phones after each visit.
2. We ask patients not to bring others inside to their appointment to reduce public exposure.
3. Please cancel or reschedule an appointment for any of the following conditions:
Fever, respiratory or flu-like symptoms
Exposure to someone diagnosed COVID-19 or who has a pending test result
Any international travel or a family member who travelled within the last two weeks, or travel to other hotspots in the U.S. or locally
