Fairy Wings and Wands: Join the Fun at the Fourth Annual Fairy Faire
The Spirit University invites you to our fourth annual Fairy Faire on April 6, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Payne Park auditorium and surrounding park. Come in costume if you prefer. This year, we have even more vendors and attractions, such as roving entertainers, exhibitors, food booths with tantalizing treats, psychic readings, mini-workshops, lectures, make-and-take crafts and a 30-foot long Fairy House.
In addition, you are welcome to participate in our Fairy House building competition. A $50 grand prize will be awarded in both the Adult and Youth categories with additional prizes for both groups. A Fairy House is a small structure where fairies can live in harmony with nature. It can be of any design made entirely from natural materials such as sticks, bark, pine cones, acorns, pebbles, shells or feathers. Your house should be built on a base so it can be easily transported.
Please submit by noon on the day of the Faire. Throughout the event, fairies will gather in song and dance to cast their ballots for “Best of Show.” Ballots will be tallied at 3 p.m., with prizes and ribbons awarded at 3:30 pm.
Location: 2100 E Laurel St., Sarasota. Cost: $5. Kids five and under are free. Fairy House Building competition entry is $5. For more information, call 941-544-5874 or visit TheSpiritU.com.
