Is Your CBD of Quality?
There is a ton of buzz surrounding CBD oil currently. We have asked Shelby Isaacson and Chip Jackson, owners of Second and Seed, and Bill Clarke, owner of Venus Med Spa, about their consumer advice for CBD oil. Both, respectively, sell pharmaceutical grade products which are manufactured here in Sarasota.
“The number one rule when buying CBD is to ask for a certificate of analysis (COA) from a third party,” recommended Clarke. “The education is paramount, and the reported benefits are amazing,” added Isaacson.
Both companies require their staff to undergo extensive training to help individuals, who suffer from anxiety, inflammation and pain, identify how CBD could benefit them. “One education point we always try to mention is that CBD is derived from the hemp plant which in non-psychoactive,” noted Jackson. “Hemp was used in a variety of ways until its ban in 1937 following the abolishment of prohibition.”
Second and Seed and Venus Med Spa offer insight into purchasing from reputable, credible institutions. “If there are no lab reports on file its best to look elsewhere,” continued Clarke, “Without the COA you have no idea what you are buying.”
Both companies have walk-in stores with provided information on their product lines. Their goals are to make certain consumers are purchasing from a reliable source for a fair price. Many MLM companies are out of the gate early, so unless they have valid lab reports, which most do not, consumers are encouraged to do research.
