Acclaimed Poet Linda Albert Releases New Collection of Works

Mar 01, 2020 11:39AM ● By Janet Lindsay

Linda Albert has just published a poetry collection titled Charting the Lost Continent: Poetry and Other Discoveries. Her earliest publications date back to the 1960s, when her poems appeared in McCall’s Magazine and The Wall Street Journal. In the decades since, her work has been published internationally and recognized with numerous awards.

Now at the age of 82, she considers her most recent book “right on time,” and reviewers agree. New York Times bestselling author Carol Gino says the book is “filled with feminine strength and power—a deep dive into the secret places in Everywoman’s heart,” and author Miriam Pedersen advises, “Read Charting the Lost Continent, knowing you can follow its map to find a way to love this fleeting life.”

Albert’s poetry is influenced by her interest in the universal themes, life passages and shifting roles of contemporary humans. “We find ourselves at a point in history where both men and women are not only talking about, but collectively working toward empowerment of feminine principles, self-acceptance and equality. I have always believed poetry has the potential to act as a reflective mirror and catalyst for personal growth and positive societal change. Though progress has been made, I’m glad to participate in the current global movement toward this much needed partnership between all of life,” she explains.
