The George Creates Resurgence and Revitalization in Sarasota
The George is a new funky Florida lifestyle store, with brilliant finds and cool vibes that opened this past summer. It’s wonderful to see a resurgence of this type of boutique on North Tamiami Trail, just South of The John Ringling Museum. The name of this store was inspired by a vintage Irish pub sign which now hangs in the café window. This sign depicts one of The King Georges of The Georgian Period, a time of vibrant resurgence after the Medieval period in European history. Upon entering this unique shop, you will find an eclectic mix of Bohemian-Chic, upscale vintage and new clothing, artwork by local artists, hand-carved tikis, cast iron fountains galore, colorful tapestries, retro furniture, hippie and New Age artifacts, and a vast collection of porcelain, wooden, or glass hand statues. The George café serves fresh fruit and vegetable juices, smoothies, bubble tea and light fare. There is also space for classes, workshops or just hangouts. Anyone mentioning this article will receive 25% of all drinks and gifts through January 31, 2022. Plans are also in the works to provide even more treasures to awe and amaze, as well as to expand with more outside seating. Once you make your way into this shop, you will be inspired to reflect this creative spirit in design, art, and fashion. So enjoy a glass of carrot or celery juice and celebrate
